Editor’s note: Outlook is CNN's in-depth look at business climates around the world. To August 12, 2012, we’re focusing on Singapore. Singapore (CNN) – Kiat W. Tan, CEO of Gardens by the Bay, has built a “people’s garden” with solar powered “super trees” and vast glasshouses, all in the shadow of Singapore’s imposing Marina Bay Sands hotel. CNN’s Outlook series often carries sponsorship originating from the countries we feature. However CNN retains full editorial control over all of its reporting. |

Singapore is often criticized as being "too artificial". Anything man-made is "artificial"! A garden is an artifice, but represents mankind's sincerest attempt to replicate what is best found in nature. I welcome Singapore's label as a Garden City. Much effort has gone into making Singapore's built environment the best possible place to house its populace, and a key feature is the nurture of green space. This is why despite the increase in population over the years, modern Singapore has managed to incorporate a corresponding increase in green space.

Most Visa credit cards can be used wdordwile, so I believe you can get cash advance at any place where Visa is accepted. Mind it that for this type of transaction a fee is charged plus there is a fee for foreign exchange. these are general rules working for Visa cards. To be absolutely sure of what you will have to pay for it and where you can get your money, you'd better ask the bank that issued the card.
